Abbottabad: Commissioner Hazara Division, Fayyaz Ali Shah, on Friday chaired a high-level meeting on the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals, stressing that the process must be carried out immediately, efficiently, and with full dignity, and be completed within one month.
The meeting at the Commissioner House was attended by the Regional Police Officer Hazara, Director Intelligence Bureau, Deputy Commissioners of Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, and representatives of the Special Branch. During the session, all Deputy Commissioners presented detailed reports on foreign nationals residing in their respective districts.
Commissioner Hazara directed the preparation of a sector-wise comprehensive schedule for repatriation and ordered its prompt implementation. He emphasized that elders of Afghan nationals must be contacted to clearly communicate the Government of Pakistan’s policy: all illegal immigrants must return to their home country.
He added that the repatriation process will be conducted with respect and all necessary facilities provided, but warned that non-cooperation will trigger strict legal action under the Foreign Act, including FIR registration. Special instructions were issued for Mansehra and Haripur to launch a uniform repatriation campaign covering both camp residents and those living in other areas.
The Commissioner further instructed that no excuses or delays will be tolerated, and strict action must be taken against property owners housing illegal foreigners. He concluded with a firm directive that the repatriation process must be ensured under all circumstances and completed within the one-month timeframe.
