PESHAWAR:The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed Deputy Commissioners who were the districts returning officers to complete preparations for oath-taking of the elected members of the first phase of Local Government elections by March 15.
According to ECP spokesman, the ECP directed the Deputy Commissioners of the first phase of LG Elections to complete all the arrangements regarding oath taking of the elected representatives by March 15 so that all the Tehsil Council chairmen and mayor could be administered oath without delay.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tahrik e Insaf candidate for Tehsil Chairman Mansehra, Kamal Salim Swati appeared in the office of District Monitoring Officer Mansehra and submitted his detailed clarification.
He prayed before District Monitoring Officer, Hayat Ullah Jan that he had never violated code of conduct and would fully abide by the code of conduct announced by ECP during LG Elections campaign.
After hearing, the district monitoring officer accepted the clarification of PTI candidate and disposed of the notice.
The LG Election in 18 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Mansehra would be held on March 31.
