Lahore:The traffic police decided to implement strict measures to curb traffic accidents and protect the lives and property of citizens in the city.
The driving licenses of 170 drivers involved in fatal accidents have been suspended, furthermore, the driver’s license will be suspended for every future fatal or severe non-fatal accident.
According to Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Abdul Rahim Sherazi, drivers responsible for fatal accidents will face legal action in addition to the suspension of their licenses. The process of suspending the licenses of drivers involved in accidents will be subject to court orders.
The CTO of Lahore clarified that driving licenses would remain suspended for a minimum of one year due to irresponsible driving. Cases will also be registered against drivers who continue to drive despite having a suspended license.
