Lahore: An important meeting was held between the Punjab Clean Water Authority and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). in which it was decided to connect clean water projects across the province to the digital system and transfer them to One Map for effective monitoring.
It was decided in the meeting that geo-tagging of clean water projects will be done. while digital data of all projects will be compiled and transferred to a digital dashboard.
Chief Executive Officer Punjab Clean Water Authority said that geo-tagging of projects will make it possible to determine their exact locations. Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf gave a briefing on the use of digital technology in the meeting.
Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhoon said that the locations of clean water projects will be determined on the basis of authentic data. while planning will be done in proportion to the population so that facilities can be provided to the population deprived of clean water in a more effective manner.
He said that water is being provided to the population deprived of clean water through bottles to the doorstep. while a comprehensive network is being established across Punjab to provide clean water through bottles.
It was also emphasised in the meeting that effective monitoring of clean water projects will be ensured through digital technology. Authentic and comprehensive digital data of the projects will also be compiled with the cooperation of PITB.
Senior officials of PITB and Punjab Clean Water Authority attended the meeting.
