Peshawar:Muhammad Saleem Khan, Provincial President of the Private Education Network (PEN) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has said that delay in updating the curriculum could adversely affect students’ educational standards and future prospects.
Speaking to media, he expressed concern over the state of education in the province, saying that education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was on the verge of collapse.
He remarked that, instead of resolving educational issues, the officials of the Education Department appeared to be contributing to the destruction of children’s futures.
According to Muhammad Saleem Khan, textbooks based on the 2024 curriculum have already been printed in other provinces and at the federal level.
Teaching is underway, and students have also completed their examinations. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is still following the 2016 curriculum, which he described as a major tragedy for the province’s education system.
He maintained that the curriculum should be uniform at the national level and that the authority to develop it should remain with the federal government.
He urged the provincial government and the Education Department to take immediate notice of the issue and implement practical measures to provide students with a curriculum aligned with modern educational requirements.
