Karachi: Spokesperson to the Mayor of Karachi and Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan People’s Party in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Karamullah Waqasi, has said that under the leadership of Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, practical measures are being accelerated to improve education, healthcare, infrastructure and basic civic facilities across Karachi.
He said that the handover of six schools in Lyari to The Citizens Foundation is an important part of the same initiative, which will provide children in the area with a quality educational environment and free education for deserving students.
Waqasi said that Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has taken an important and transformative initiative for the promotion of education in Lyari. An agreement has been reached between Lyari Town Municipal Corporation and The Citizens Foundation for the handover of schools, under which six schools in Lyari Town have been handed over to The Citizens Foundation.
He said that along with improving Lyari
‘s infrastructure, significant and transformative changes are also being introduced in the education and healthcare sectors.
Spokesperson to the Mayor of Karachi Karamullah Waqasi further said that Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has intensified the monitoring of ongoing development works across the city and inspected several development projects in different areas during a late-night visit.
Karamullah Waqasi said that Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab remains fully aware of the problems faced by citizens and is maintaining continuous contact with the public.
He said an e-Kachehri will be held again next week to directly hear citizens’ complaints and suggestions, while its duration will also be extended so that more citizens can present their issues directly to the authorities concerned.
