PESHAWAR: Director General Iranian Consulate, Mehran Eskandarian on Thursday called for Muslim unity to foil nefarious designs of anti-Islam lobbies.
Addressing a ceremony of Shia-Sunni scholars here at Imam Bargha Agha Gul, he said Muslims of all schools of thought around the world should form unity as certain elements wanted to create rifts among Muslim sects to divide the Muslim Ummah.
The Amir of Jamiat Ulema Islam Peshawar, Maulana Muhammad Maskin Shah, Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madani, Maulana Iqbal Shah Hydari, Maulana Zaki Al Hasan and other scholars also addressed the ceremony.
They said that there are different sects and schools of thought of Muslims but the religion is Islam.
