Quetta: On the special directives of Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Nawabzada Zareen Khan Magsi, and Secretary Tourism and Culture, Hameedullah Khan Nasar, the Tourism Department Balochistan in collaboration with Radio Pakistan Quetta organized a Digital Media Engagement Program.
The initiative was aimed to create awareness among young social media influencers about effective use of digital platforms while promoting Balochistan’s tourism, culture, and historical heritage at national and international levels. A large number of influencers and digital media professionals from various districts of the province participated in the program.
Director Tourism Balochistan, Gehram Bakhshi Baloch, briefed participants on the province’s scenic tourist spots, natural beauty, cultural traditions, and historical legacy.
He emphasized that social media is a powerful tool to project Balochistan’s positive image and introduce its tourist attractions globally. He encouraged youth to use their creativity and modern platforms to showcase the province’s beauty and heritage.
Station Director Radio Pakistan Quetta, Siddiqa Khan, highlighted the role of Radio Pakistan in promoting Balochistan’s culture and traditions.
She stressed the importance of connecting youth with modern communication tools to broaden the reach of the province’s tourism potential. Senior Producer Kaleemullah Baloch added that Balochistan’s talented youth have the ability to present its natural charm and cultural richness to the world through social media.
The program also featured a cultural and musical segment, with regional songs from different parts of Balochistan, which enthralled the audience. Later, participants visited the historic and cultural site of Mariabad in Quetta, where they engaged in photography, video recording, and prepared short reels for social media.
Young influencers pledged to share their content across platforms to highlight Balochistan’s tourism and culture, while urging the government to expand such programs to other districts. They noted that this would allow youth to explore their local heritage and promote Balochistan’s positive image more widely.
