Peshawar: District Police Officer (DPO) Charsadda Rifatullah Khan on Friday announced the establishment of special desks for the transgender community at police stations and the Police Facilitation Center to ensure easy access and prompt resolution of their issues.
A delegation of the transgender community, led by Subia Khan, currently posted in the Prisons Department, called on the DPO and apprised him of various problems being faced by the community.
The DPO listened to the delegation’s concerns attentively and issued orders to the relevant police officials to take necessary measures for their immediate resolution.
He also directed the establishment of special transgender desks at police stations and the Police Facilitation Center to provide the community with convenience and quick access in police-related matters.
Rifatullah Khan said Charsadda police were committed to protecting the life and property of every citizen and providing legal assistance and facilities without discrimination.
He said the problems of the transgender community would be resolved and every possible facility would be provided to them in police-related matters.
