District coordination committee reviews implementation of Apex committees decisions


Hyderabad: A meeting of the district coordination committee for social and political affairs was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Hyderabad Mahwish Aijaz, which reviewed implementation of decisions taken in the previous meeting, directions of the federal and provincial apex committees and various ongoing activities at the district level.



The meeting directed the concerned departments to ensure timely implementation of the decisions and directives of the federal and provincial apex committees at district and taluka levels and regularly submit progress reports in this regard.



Mahwish Aijaz directed the assistant commissioners to maintain effective liaison with local political leadership, elected representatives, community elders, religious leaders, civil society and other relevant stakeholders to further improve implementation of government measures, public awareness, social harmony and law and order.



The meeting also held a detailed discussion on engaging youth in healthy and positive activities. The sports officer informed the meeting that various sports programs including sports summer camps and FIFA world cup screenings along with several other activities were organized during the current month to encourage young people to participate in positive and healthy activities.



It was decided that monthly review meetings at district and taluka levels would continue to monitor implementation of the apex committees’ decisions. Proceedings and progress reports of the meetings would also be regularly forwarded to the relevant higher authorities.



ADC-II directed the concerned officers to regularly submit photographs, attendance sheets, media coverage and other relevant documentary evidence along with progress reports to the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, so that a proper record of ongoing activities and implementation of decisions could be maintained. Officers of all relevant departments attended the meeting.
