Quetta: Member Election Commission Balochistan Shah Muhammad Jatoi on Tuesday said that the District Election Commissioner Complex established in Gwadar is one of the modern, beautiful and attractive buildings of the Election Commission in Balochistan.
He said that with the establishment of which the citizens would be provided with electoral services and related facilities in a better and organized environment. He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the District Election Commissioner Complex Gwadar.
The ceremony was attended by Election Commissioner Balochistan Ali Asghar Sial, Regional Election Commissioner Makran at Turbat Muhammad Baloch, administrative and police officers, representatives of civil society and regional elders.
Shah Muhammad Jatoi said that a strong institutional structure and improved public facilities are indispensable for transparent, free and fair elections.
He said that the Election Commission of Balochistan is improving the capacity and basic facilities of electoral institutions through the construction of modern complexes in different districts, so that electoral services could be provided to the citizens in an effective, organized and people-friendly manner.
He said that the District Election Commissioner Complex Gwadar is a link in this chain, which would provide a modern and suitable environment for conducting electoral affairs, maintaining records and providing electoral facilities to the citizens.
On this occasion, Sub-Divisional Officer of the Communications and Works Department Junbad Kashani, while giving a briefing, said that the complex has been constructed on an area of one acre at a cost of Rs 235 million.
The project was started under the Federal PSDP 2023 and was completed within the stipulated period in 2026.
