HYDERABAD: District Polio Eradication Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and chairman of the committee Tariq Qureshi here on Wednesday.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that to achieve hundred percent results of the anti-polio campaign, it is necessary that we all play our key role together and eradicate polio from the roots.
He directed relevant officers to enhance the performance of their field teams to ensure the successful implementation of the campaign. He also instructed them to formulate micro-plans to make the polio eradication campaign more effective and to make every possible effort to end cases of refusal so that the spread of the virus can be halted.
He directed officers of the private school department to advise relevant private schools to cooperate with the administration during the polio campaign. He emphasized that the registration of any school found violating these directives should be revoked.

n informed that during the seven-day anti-polio campaign from April 29 to May 6, 2024, a target of over 0.4 million children up to five years of age has been set in 154 UCs. While 84 EPI centers, 1565 mobile teams, 157 fixed teams, 67 transit teams and 8 roaming teams will administer anti-polio drops to children under the supervision of 385 area Incharges and 112 UC MOs.
On this occasion, DHO Dr. Lala Jaffer, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Shahzad Ahmed Sahi, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Mehwish Aijaz and other relevant officers were present in the meeting.
