Faisalabad: Dolphin Force has intensified its crackdown on criminals and lawbreakers across the city and arrested more than 1600 outlaws including proclaimed offenders, court absconders, drug peddlers, etc.

Police spokesman said here on Wednesday that Dolphin Force conducted operations on special directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain to curb crime, improve public safety and strengthen enforcement of law across.

During the ongoing year, Dolphin Force teams arrested 186 proclaimed offenders, bringing them into the grip of law. As many as 407 record-holders and 116 court absconders were also apprehended in different operations, further tightening the noose around habitual and wanted criminals.

He said that the force also launched an effective crackdown against illegal weapons, conducting 128 successful operations during which illegal arms and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered.

He said that Dolphin Force also arrested 850 drug peddlers and other suspects in different operations and recovered hashish, heroin, ice and liquor from their possession.

The police also took action against the activities posing risks to public safety and violating the law including one-wheeling, kite flying and fireworks, and arrested 171 lawbreakers involved in such activities.

In another significant achievement, 124 accused allegedly involved in theft and robbery incidents were arrested while stolen property and other looted items were recovered from their possession during this period, spokesman added.

He said that Dolphin Force also carried out extensive snap-checking as part of preventive policing. During this period, 20,95,616 people, 1,886,905 motorcycles and 471,726 vehicles were checked at different points across the city, he added.

He said that the police further strengthened its crime-control mechanism through the use of e-Police app, strategic pickets, snap-checking and intelligence-based policing, enabling police officers to identify and apprehend criminals more effectively.

Under the community policing initiative, Dolphin Force also provided immediate assistance and support to 2,142 citizens, he said, adding that effective field monitoring and extensive use of modern technology had played a key role in making the anti-crime strategy more effective.
