Peshawar: The University of Malakand (UoM) has warned individuals against unauthorisedly displaying the university’s name, official titles, acronyms, logos or stickers on private vehicles, cautioning that violators will face disciplinary action under the relevant laws.
According to a notification issued here by the university, the administration has taken notice of individuals using the university’s identity on private vehicle number plates, windscreens and vehicle bodies.
The university said such practice was in violation of the directives of the Peshawar High Court and relevant regulations of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department concerning unauthorised inscriptions on vehicles.
The Vice Chancellor has directed all concerned to immediately remove any official titles, acronyms, logos or stickers representing the University of Malakand from privately owned vehicles.
The notification clarified that only vehicles carrying standard number plates issued by the respective government department or office, in accordance with prescribed rules and procedures, would be allowed on the university premises.
The administration stressed that no individual had been authorised to use the university’s identity on personal property to claim immunity, protocol or any special privilege on public roads.
The university warned that disciplinary proceedings under the relevant law would be initiated against anyone found violating the directives after issuance of the notification.
