Kohat: District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal has appreciated members of Kohat Press Club for their responsible and professional coverage of the recent blast tragedy, acknowledging their role in disseminating timely information and supporting relief efforts during the crisis.
Addressing a meeting with journalists at Kohat Press Club on Tuesday , the DPO said media personnel worked under challenging and sensitive circumstances to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the incident. He said journalists also highlighted rescue operations, transportation of the injured, blood donation campaigns and other public support initiatives.
SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal said close coordination among police, media and citizens during the difficult period reflected a collective commitment to serving the community. He stressed that responsible journalism was important during emergencies as it helped provide authentic information and counter rumours and misinformation.
The DPO presented honorary shields to journalists in recognition of their services and professional contributions during the blast incident. Representatives of the press club thanked him for the acknowledgment and reaffirmed their commitment to responsible reporting, peace and public awareness. Both sides also discussed further strengthening police-media coordination and undertaking joint public awareness initiatives.
