Islamabad

Islamabad:Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Thursday urged the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to prioritize resolving the issues confronting the people of the province.

Speaking to a private television channel, the minister said KP was facing serious challenges, particularly terrorism, and stressed the need for close cooperation between the provincial and federal governments to completely eradicate the menace.

He said peace and stability were essential for attracting investment, promoting business activities and improving economic conditions in the province.

He urged the PTI leadership to abandon its personal political agenda and refrain from organizing long marches and political agitation, instead focusing on restoring peace and improving security in KP.

Commenting on political dialogue with the opposition, he said the government had made efforts to engage the opposition and maintained that dialogue remained the best option for resolving political differences.

He further called on the PTI leadership to avoid confrontation and concentrate on addressing the serious challenges facing the people of the province.

The minister said greater cooperation between the KP and federal governments would help eliminate terrorism and restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
