Hyderabad: Election Commission Jamshoro office on Monday organized an awareness seminar on civic and voter education in Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro. Regional Election Commissioner Hyderabad Azhar Hussain Tanuri, District Election Commissioner Amir Mirza, Registrar Mehran University Professor Dr. Nasrullah Pirzado, Director Planning Mehran University Imdad Baghio addressed the seminar.
On this occasion Speakers said that women are less voters than men during the election, the country’s situation can change with women’s vote.
They said that how much one vote is valuable for the country’s future and the country’s situation, we do not know the voter. Looking at the gender ratio, a large number of women cannot vote due to cultural and other barriers.
Most of us think that elections and voting are only men’s games, when it is not so, women should come forward and take part in the voting process by getting their identity cards.
The Election Commission has to increase the number of women in the voting process.
After knowing this reason, we have started the series of awareness seminars to increase the participation of women in the voting process.
There is a big difference in the ratio of women and men, nearly one 10 Million women who are not registered to vote in the country.
It can be estimated from these numbers that how many people do not exercise their right to vote.
Efforts are being made to make youth, women, transgenders a part of the election process.
Speakers said that every eighteen-year-old Pakistani citizen should get a national identity card and register his vote as part of the election process. Young people are the foundation of the country, the future of the country will be determined by their vote.
They urged youth to come forward and increase their participation. Young Leaders Parliament representative Abdul Hafeez Banglani showed his prepared documentary on the occasion.
