Election for PML-N president slot to be held tomorrow: Rana Sanaullah

LAHORE: Advisor to Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah said on Monday that 11 nomination papers had been issued for the election of PML-N president slot as per the schedule of Election Commission.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that 11 nomination papers had been issued today from 9: 00 am to 5: 00 pm.

Rana said that nomination papers would be received tomorrow, May 28 from 10: 00 am to 12: 00 pm. If anyone could not get nomination papers today due to any reason then papers would be issued tomorrow and would had to be submitted before 12: 00 pm, he added.

He further said that scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done tomorrow at 1: 00 pm while nomination papers could be withdrawn till 2: 30 pm.

Final list would be prepared by 3: 00 pm, he said and added that meeting of central council meeting of the PML-N would be held at a local hotel while election process for the slot of PML-N president would be completed by 4: 00 pm as per party’s constitution and rules.

garding question about Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, Rana Sanaullah said that he could submit nomination papers but his eligibility would be checked during scrutiny.

He said if there would be more than one candidate for the slot of the party president then election would be done through show of hand or voting method.

Rana Sanaullah said the PML-N Quaid had worked very hard to make the PML-N a popular party among people besides making it a party of a common worker.

He further said that it was a matter of pride for the PML-N that Pakistan became an atomic power during the tenure of the PML-N government.

He said that anyone could submit nomination papers, adding that Nawaz Sharif was fully mobilized within the party.

Advisor to PM Rana Sanaullah while commenting on recent statement of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder said that he did not politically agree with the PTI founder.

To another question, he said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was working hard to steer the country out of economic crisis and prayers o
f entire nation were with him.

He further said that many times, the PML-N was politically victimised and if it had not happened then the country would have been in much better position.

To another question he said that various problems in the country were just a result of the stubbornness of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder.
