DG KHAN:District administration along with officials of Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) detected electricity theft at 2004 sites in Dera Ghazi Khan division.
An official source talking to reporter stated that a relentless crackdown was in progress across districts Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Layyah, and DG Khan.
During September, a total of 887 persons involved in pilfering electricity were apprehended. The teams exposed the theft of a staggering 3,063,000 electricity units, which translated to a monetary value exceeding Rs 120.7 million.
Among electricity thieves categories, he added that electricity was being pilferage by domestic, tubewell, and industrial consumers.
