Faisalabad: Rescue 1122 teams from all four districts of Faisalabad division turned emergency response into a test of speed, precision and professional endurance as they competed in an inter-district Rescue Challenge, demonstrating their expertise in firefighting, high-angle rescue, trauma management, deep-well rescue and water rescue operations.
Rescue 1122 spokesman said that the challenge was organized in Faisalabad with active participation from rescue teams of Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh.
The rescuers, working under the leadership of their respective District Emergency Officers, showcased their professional skills, physical fitness, teamwork and ability to make timely decisions during simulated emergency situations.
District Emergency Officer (DEO) Faisalabad Engineer Ehtesham Wahla, DEO Toba Tek Singh Engineer Farhan Mirza, DEO Jhang Engineer Sultan Mahmood and DEO Chiniot Engineer Muhammad Imran Bhutta participated in the challenge along with their respective teams.
During competition, the rescuers carried out practical demonstrations covering a range of emergency operations including firefighting, high-angle rescue, trauma management, deep-well rescue and water rescue.
The participating teams demonstrated their ability to safely evacuate victims from difficult and hazardous situations, provide immediate first aid and complete rescue operations in accordance with established professional procedures.
The exercises were designed to replicate challenging emergency scenarios in which the rescuers are required to remain physically fit, mentally alert and capable of making quick and accurate decisions while working as coordinated teams.
The spokesman said that basic objective of the inter-district Rescue Challenge was to further enhance professional capabilities of rescuers, maintain their physical and mental fitness, strengthen teamwork and improve their ability to deliver a rapid and effective response during emergencies.
Such competitions also provide an opportunity for rescuers to assess their operational preparedness under pressure and identify areas requiring further improvement. It also enabled them to remain agile, vigilant and professionally equipped to deal with even the most demanding emergency situations, he added.
DEO Faisalabad Engineer Ehtesham Wahla said that rescue challenges provided an effective platform for assessing rescuers’ professional skills and further improving their operational capabilities.
He said that competitive exercises helped rescuers enhance their confidence, coordination and response efficiency while preparing them for complex emergencies requiring specialized rescue techniques.
The rescuers from Faisalabad division who demonstrated outstanding performance in the challenge would represent the division at National Rescue Challenge to be held at Emergency Services Academy in Lahore, he added.
