Lahore: Five more police personnel nominated in the case relating to a police raid on the residence of the Attorney General for Pakistan on Friday approached a sessions court seeking interim bail. Additional District and Sessions Judge Zulfiqar Ahmed heard the interim bail petitions and restrained the police from arresting the five personnel until August 12.
The court also directed the suspect to join the investigation. The police personnel include woman police officer Seerat Tariq, Imran Khan, Salman Khushi, Najaf Ali and Zeeshan Akram.
Sarwar Road Police had registered the case against the officials in connection with the alleged raid on the Attorney General’s residence in Lahore.
According to the FIR, a police team led by the Sarwar Road SHO allegedly entered the Attorney General’s residence at around 6pm on July 27 after scaling the main gate. The FIR further alleged that the officials harassed employees present at the residence and damaged flower pots outside the house during the operation.
It is pertinent to mention here that a station house officer and five other police personnel had already secured bail in the case.
