PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Industries, Technical Education and Merged Districts Affairs, Dr Aamir Abdullah has said that the status of tribal people has been changed from subjects to respectable citizens after merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He expressed these views in Pakhtunkhwa Radio’s programme Pakhtunkhawa online here on Thursday. He said that “Now tribal people have become equal citizens and joined national mainstream of development”.
He maintained that provincial government is fully implementing the ten-year development action plan of merged districts.
Dr. Amir Abdullah said that process of balanced development has been started in all 25 tehsils of the seven tribal districts. He said that new schools and hospitals are being built and security and administrative matters are being improved in merged districts.
Answering to a question, the Minister urged the youth to be attracted towards modern technical education to develop the country and nation. He said that to large industrial sector, it has been decided to establish new industrial estates at the district level in which priority will be given to industries based on local raw materials.
