Peshawar: At least four people were killed and six others injured in a collision between the passenger coach and a dumper truck near Tunnel No. 3 on Swat Expressway in Malakand, Rescue 1122 informed Sunday morning.
Rescue 1122 said that soon after receiving information about the accident, medical teams of Rescue 1122 Malakand reached the scene along with ambulances.
The Motorway Police said the accident occurred due to the negligence and carelessness of the Hiace driver. The passenger van was travelling from Mardan to Dir when it smashed into the dumper in high speed.
Rescue 1122 and Motorway Police jointly conducted the rescue operation. The injured were provided first aid at the scene and later shifted to DHQ Hospital Batkhela for further treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were also transported to the same hospital.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed deep sorrow over the traffic accident on Swat Expressway and offered heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
The governor directed that the injured be provided with the best possible medical facilities and said he shared the grief of the bereaved families during this difficult time.
