Astore: Gilgit-Baltistan Provincial Minister for Education Aman Ali Amir visited various government schools in Chilas and reviewed in detail the ongoing teaching and learning process, students’ attendance, teachers’ performance, educational environment and available facilities.
Director Education, Diamer-Astore Division, Jahanzeb and Deputy Director Education Diamer Rahimullah, accompanied the Provincial Education Minister during his visit to various educational institutions, including Government Boys High School Gunar Farm and Government Girls Middle School Bunar Das.
During the visit, the Provincial Minister inspected different classrooms and reviewed teaching activities. He also obtained information about students’ attendance, teachers’ performance and the educational facilities being provided at the schools. School principals briefed the Provincial Minister about various issues, requirements and other educational matters faced by their respective institutions. He heard the issues attentively and directed the concerned authorities to take necessary measures for their resolution.
Provincial Minister for Education Aman Ali Amir emphasized that teachers should ensure timely completion of the syllabus and pay special attention to regularly checking students’ notebooks, daily attendance and homework. He said that strengthening students’ basic reading and writing skills was essential for ensuring quality education.
He further directed that students should be provided with opportunities to develop self-confidence, improve their communication skills, ask questions and actively participate in various classroom activities. He said the objective of educational institutions was not merely to complete the syllabus but also to develop and enhance the intellectual, moral, creative and practical abilities of students.
The Provincial Minister urged teachers to encourage students to develop an interest in reading, improve their writing skills and cultivate the habit of expressing their views confidently.
He also emphasized the need to make School Management Committees (SMCs) effective and functional and directed that effective coordination among parents, teachers and school administrations should be ensured. He directed that monthly SMC meetings be held regularly so that educational and administrative issues of schools could be reviewed in a timely manner and practical measures taken for their resolution.
The Provincial Education Minister expressed overall satisfaction with the administrative and academic affairs of the schools and appreciated the efforts of teachers and school administrations.
At the conclusion of the visit, Director Education Diamer-Astore Division Jahanzeb and Deputy Director Education Diamer Rahimullah gave the Provincial Minister a detailed briefing on educational affairs in Diamer district, the overall situation of schools, availability of teachers, students’ attendance, educational results and other related matters.
The Provincial Minister reviewed the briefing and directed the concerned authorities to ensure continuous monitoring of teaching standards, students’ attendance, basic educational skills and teachers’ performance so as to further improve the quality of education in government educational institutions and provide students with quality and effective educational opportunities.
