Lahore:Chairperson Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab and MPA Sarah Ahmed (T.I.) on Thursday said education and empowerment are the foundation of a bright future for girls, stressing collective efforts to protect their rights and provide them equal opportunities.
She was speaking as chief guest at an event organised by Search for Justice to mark the International Day of the Girl Child. Sarah Ahmed also participated in a special panel discussion with schoolgirls, who raised questions about girls’ rights, education, protection, equality and empowerment.
Sarah Ahmed said the questions raised by the girls reflected their awareness about their rights and future in society. She urged girls to move forward with confidence and belief in their abilities, saying strong self-confidence and determination could help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
She said that protecting and investing in girls is an investment not only in their future but also in the future of the country. Every girl should have equal opportunities for education, protection, equality, and the fulfillment of her dreams. She added that investing in girls’ rights guarantees a safe, empowered, and bright Pakistan.
The spokesperson said the active participation of students, their questions and expression of views made the International Day of the Girl Child event more effective.
