Girls’ Marathon Race organized in Quetta in connection of I-D celebrations


Quetta: A Girls’ Marathon Race was organized in Quetta as part of the Pakistan Independence Day celebrations on Wednesday.

Adviser to Chief Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majeed Baloch, Secretary Sports Dura Baloch and Director General Sports Dr. Yasir Bazai attended the event.

Hundreds of girls participated in the marathon, which started from Shaheedan-e-Ziarat Chowk and concluded at Ayub Sports Complex Quetta.

Meena Majeed Baloch awarded cash prizes of Rs. 50, 000, Rs. 30, 000 and Rs. 20, 000 to the first, second and third position holders, respectively, while medals were also presented to other outstanding participants.

Speaking on the occasion, Adviser to CM for Sports, Meena Majeed Baloch said the enthusiastic participation of youth in Independence Day celebrations across Balochistan reflected their immense love for Pakistan.

She said the marathon was started from Shaheedan-e-Ziarat Chowk to pay tribute to the brave police martyrs and express solidarity against terrorism.
