Islamabad: The price of gold in the country witnessed an upward trend on Wednesday, with the price of 24-karat gold increasing by Rs4, 200 per tola to Rs463, 936, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The price of 24-karat gold of 10 grams increased by Rs3, 601 to Rs397, 750, while the price of 22-karat gold of 10 grams rose by Rs3, 301 to Rs364, 617.
In the international market, gold was quoted at $4, 415 per ounce, showing an increase of $42. Meanwhile, the price of silver also witnessed an increase, with 24-karat silver rising by Rs146 per tola to Rs7, 111.
The price of 24-karat silver for 10 grams increased by Rs125 to Rs6, 096, while international silver was quoted at $66. 32 per ounce, up by $1. 46.
The gold rates were based on interbank exchange rates, with purity set at 999. 1 for 24-karat gold, the association said.
