QUETTA:Governor Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha on Friday inaugurated the “Balochistan Satellite Open Squash Championship 2022” at Shahnawaz Murri Squash Complex, Ayub Stadium Quetta.
President Balochistan Squash Association, Mohammad Arshad and a large number of squash players hailing from various parts of the country also attended the inaugural ceremony.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Governor Balochistan said Pakistan remained Squash’s World Champion for three decades. The outstanding performance of Pakistani players in Squash has earned good name for Pakistan.
“Incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf accords priority to boosting the sports activities in the country,” he said and hoped that players would revive the previous status of Pakistan in Squash.
The Governor recalled that Balochistan was not behind than any other provinces in terms of talent as in recent past a young cricketer from far flung area of Pishin district namely Haseebullah proved his flair in the under 19 Cricket World Cup.
The governor also assured his full support to the Squash Association and issued directives to the sports and culture department for resolution of the issues faced by the association and players.
