Lahore: Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Punjab Sohail Shaukat Butt on Wednesday said that the Punjab government was committed to empower persons with disabilities and students in special education.
“As much as 1.115 billion rupees will be distributed among 110,000 deserving beneficiaries including Punjab government’s Himmat Card holders,” said the minister in a statement.
He said the government was ensuring timely disbursement of Himmat Card stipends across the province during the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27.
The beneficiaries included Himmat Card holders, particularly persons with disabilities, as well as students enrolled in the Special Education Department.
Sohail Shaukat Butt said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the government was committed to providing financial protection and support to vulnerable and disadvantaged segments of society.

on to lead dignified and independent lives. Timely financial assistance will help them meet their essential needs and also contribute towards discouraging begging,’ he said.
The Provincial Minister for Social Welfare directed district officers to ensure that the disbursement process was completed transparently, promptly and without any hindrance, so that the entitled beneficiaries received their stipends in a timely manner.
