QUETTA: Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri has said that it was a great honor for Pakistan to host the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
it is a very welcome step for the Muslim Ummah which will have an impact on all Muslim countries. By holding a successful OIC meeting on Afghanistan a months ago, Pakistan paid homage to the right of effective diplomacy which was appreciated all over the world, she said in her statement issued here on Friday.
She said that the convening of the 48th meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Pakistan was a very good initiative which was successfully supported by the full participation of Islamic countries.
Pakistan has always made positive efforts for the promotion of harmony and brotherhood among Muslim countries and these efforts of Pakistan are valued in Muslim countries, she said and added that Pakistan has always expressed its desire for peace, prosperity and development in the region and has fully supported and would continue to support all possible measures for this.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri said that Pakistan is from Kashmir, Palestine and Afghanistan through the relevant resolutions, the OIC meeting raised its voice and all the countries participating in the meeting supported Pakistan’s efforts in highlighting these issues to the world and said that Kashmir, Palestine and Afghanistan are the major issues of the world and these issues ensure prompt implementation of the resolutions passed by the UN General Assembly for resolution.
She said that Islamophobia was discussed at the 48th OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and the meeting strongly condemned negative propaganda like Islamophobia and made it clear to the Western world that Islam is a pacifist religion and there is no room for extremism while terrorism or extremism has nothing to do with any religion. Will be found when these resolutions are implemented.
The Muslim Ummah has a responsibility to present the case of Muslim countries to the world in a comprehensive manner and to get it implemented by the UN General Assembly, she maintained.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri expressed hope that the OIC meeting would take effective action on the decisions and resolutions respectively. Diplomatic success has been achieved on which the entire nation deserves congratulations.
She has said that by holding a successful OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Pakistan has exercised its right to effective diplomacy which will soon yield positive results.
