HYDERABAD:The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) has intensified its campaign against power theft, launching a grand operation in SRCT Colony, Qasimabad, where only 56 electricity meters were found installed against 100 connections.
Executive Engineer (XEN) Qasimabad Division Zafar Solangi said that HESCO was conducting anti-theft operations in collaboration with Rangers to curb electricity theft.
He urged consumers in Qasimabad, Heerabad and Citizen subdivisions to use electricity only through authorized meters. He warned that connections involved in power theft would be repeatedly disconnected in accordance with the applicable rules.
Zafar Solangi said that HESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faizullah Dahri had issued clear directives to ensure that all consumers used electricity through meters to help make Hyderabad city free from load shedding.
He added that HESCO was gradually taking steps to make various feeders load-shedding-free. He expressed hope that all feeders in Hyderabad would eventually be made free from load shedding in line with the commitment of the HESCO chief executive officer. SDO Qasimabad Subdivision Bilal Rattar was also present on the occasion.
