FAISALABAD:Chairperson Punjab Women Protection Authority Hina Pervaiz Butt visited the Women Gender-Based Violence Unit (WGBVU) at Women Police Station here on Sunday and said the government was sincere to protect rights of women.
She also had a meeting with the relatives of a girl who was victim of violence in Chak Jhumra and assured her of justice at all costs.
She said that the police were conducting raids for arrest of the accused and he would be taken to task in accordance with the law shortly.
SSP Investigation briefed Hina Butt about the WGBVU and said that the police had conducted medical examination of the victim whereas City Police Officer (CPO) Kamran Adil had constituted a special team for investigation and arrest of the culprit on priority basis.
Hina Butt also reviewed the facilities being provided at the WGBVU and directed the unit manager to improve its service quality.
