Lahore: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Wednesday met police employees and their family members at the Central Police Office and issued immediate directions to concerned officers for resolving their problems.
According to a Punjab Police handout, the IGP listened to the issues raised by police personnel and their families and directed the relevant officers to provide relief in accordance with the rules.
On the request of Constable Muhammad Akram’s son regarding declaration of his father as a martyr, the IG Punjab directed the DIG Welfare and Finance to examine the matter.
Similarly, on the requests of Constables Mazhar Hussain, Inayat, Muhammad Rafiq and Ali Kamran for financial assistance for medical treatment, the DIG Welfare and Finance was directed to take necessary measures for relief.
On the request of retired Sub-Inspector Irshad Ali regarding cancellation of a case, the IGP directed the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan to take necessary action.
Regarding the promotion request of Sub-Inspector Faisal Ali, directions were issued to the DIG Special Protection Unit (SPU), while the Additional IG Punjab was directed to consider the promotion request of Lady Sub-Inspector Anum Saleem.
The IGP also directed the Additional IG Investigation Punjab to take necessary action on the request of Senior Traffic Warden Muhammad Nawaz regarding recovery.
On the request of the father of late Constable Samuel Masih for payment of his son’s outstanding dues, the Additional IG Welfare and Finance was directed to take appropriate measures.
Regarding the transfer request of Head Constable Shoukat Hayat, the DIG Establishment-II was directed to provide relief, while the DIG Establishment-I was asked to consider the transfer request of ASI Naveed Shahzad.
The IGP also issued directions on other applications concerning discipline, administration, promotion and welfare of police employees and their families.
