IHC grants bail to woman accused of assaulting husband, daughters

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday granted bail to a woman accused of assaulting her husband and two daughters, observing that the dispute between the parties appeared to be domestic and familial in nature.

Justice Khadim Hussain Somroo issued an eight-page written order, allowing the accused woman bail against surety bonds of Rs200,000.

The court observed that the medical record did not indicate any injury that could be considered life-threatening.

The court also noted that the accused held a PhD degree in Philosophy and had no previous criminal record.

A case had been registered against the woman at Women Police Station, Islamabad, on the complaint of her husband.

The court, after examining the available record and circumstances of the case, granted her bail against the prescribed surety bonds.
