Hyderabad: The eve of the independence day in Hyderabad witnessed boisterous celebrations as government and private organizations lit up buildings, intersections and squares in white and green coloured lights while the youth roamed around the city in rallies.
The skies of Hyderabad lit up with multifarious colours with fireworks as the clock ticked 12 midnight.Aerial gunshots were also fired in violation of the provincial government’s ban with at least 7 citizens were received injured at Liaquat University Hospital alone past midnight.Music systems were placed outside shops and restaurants in all commercial areas, attracting hordes of celebratory youths.
The Autobahn Road, a long commercial road stretching to around 6 kilometers from Giddu Chowk in Hussainabad to Fateh Chowk in the SITE area, remained the center of activity all night till the early morning.Musical events were also organized at several locations including at the recently launched food street on Autobahn road, named Mehran Walks.The police remained deployed on the city’s roads and heavy traffic was steered away from the main roads where celebratory rallies were gathering.
