FAISALABAD: The Environment Protection Department resealed boiler of a sizing industry and imposed a heavy fine on its owner over violating environment protection laws. Deputy Director Environment Johar Abbas Randhawa said here on Friday that environment teams had sealed premises of a boiler in sizing industry as prohibited material was being burnt which was causing environmental pollution. However, the factory owner violated the Punjab Environmental Protection (Smog Prevention and Control) Rules and de-sealed the boiler. Receiving information, an environment team re-sealed the premises of the boiler and imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 on its owner.
