Hyderabad: A Journalists Facilitation Desk has been established at the Divisional Directorate of Information Hyderabad to facilitate the prompt resolution of legitimate issues faced by working journalists, media representatives and accredited press clubs.
According to a handout issued on Monday, the desk has been established at the divisional level on the directives of the Secretary Information Sindh, with two senior officers of the directorate designated to oversee its functioning. They include deputy director information Hyderabad Muhammad Yaqoob Bhatti and information officer Ghulam Shabir Arain.
The Facilitation Desk will receive and process applications from working journalists and media personnel concerning financial assistance, medical emergencies and other legitimate issues, and will facilitate their timely resolution through the relevant authorities. It would also maintain a comprehensive record of applications received and action taken, and regularly submit reports to the competent authorities.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening institutional coordination with the journalist community and press clubs and ensuring that their legitimate concerns are addressed efficiently and on a priority basis.
