ISLAMABAD:Paying eulogizing tributes to Kashmiri Martyrs, Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) has said that July 13th is an important milestone in the history of Kashmiris’ resistance against the oppressors.
In a statement issued here on Friday, JKNF spokesman Muhammad Haseeb Wani, while highlighting the supreme sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs who were gunner down by the forces of Dogra Maharaja on the day in 1931, said that the tragic incident serves as a shining example of the Kashmiri people’s faith and their courage to stand-up for what is right.
He said that the people of the Kashmiri people have an enviable history of standing-up against the oppressors.
“Martyrdom of 22 Kashmiri, who sacrificed their lives one after the other to complete a prayer call (Azan) is unprecedented in the world history”, he added.
Terming this tragic incident as milestone of Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for right to self-determination, Wani said that the day was not far when decades-long struggle and the sacrifices o
f the Kashmiri nation would bear fruits.
The spokesman also urged the Kashmiri masses to observe strike on July 13 as a mark of protest against India’s illegal occupation of their motherland and draw world attention towards an early settlement of the lingering dispute.
Stressing the need for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, he said that the international community needs to realize the fact that the unresolved dispute has been the main cause of tension and instability in the region, he concluded.
