Karachi: The Karachi administration is set to celebrate the 79th Independence Day in a befitting manner, reflecting the significance of the occasion and a spirit of fervent patriotism, preparations for the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Mazar-e-Quaid have been finalized.
Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, cabinet members, and high-ranking officials will attend the Independence Day ceremony at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. They will perform the flag-hoisting, lay a floral wreath, and offer Fateha.
On the directives of commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi Deputy Commissioners across all districts of Karachi, are making arrangements for the events and programs to celebrate Independence Day and highlight the spirit of patriotism.
On Wednesday, the District Administration (Central) on the directive of Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem organized a special Independence Day event at Jinnah College, in collaboration with the college. Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi attended the event as the chief guest and performed the flag-hoisting ceremony and cut the Independence Day cake.
Deputy Commissioner (Central) Taha Saleem, College Principal Kamran Kazmi, prominent figures from various sectors, teachers, and a large number of students participated in the event, where the students’ enthusiasm was a sight to behold.
The Commissioner remarked that students are the nation’s most valuable asset and the architects of the future. He appreciated the students’ enthusiastic participation in the event and commended their display of national spirit and patriotism.
He emphasized that the education, hard work, and good character of the students constitute the true strength of our country.
On this occasion, students performed patriotic songs and passionately expressed their love for the country.
The Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners to organize grand Independence Day celebrations in their respective districts with the cooperation of educational institutions and NGOs.
He emphasized ensuring a festive atmosphere across the city and encouraging citizens, especially the youth, to participate enthusiastically in the independence program.
Special decorations and illuminations will be arranged throughout the city, and special programs will be held in educational institutions, key buildings, intersections, and main roads will be adorned with national flags and decorative lights.
The Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners, as well as municipal and development agencies, to work with a spirit of patriotism befitting the significance of the day while organizing the celebrations.
