PESHAWAR: KP Caretaker Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a unique position in the tourism sector as it is home to 20,000 heritage sites out of which more than 2000 are Buddhist sites.
He was talking to the media after inaugurating the completion of renovation work on the historic Sethi House here on Monday.
It also has a unique place as the rare and unique statues of Buddha are preserved in the Peshawar Museum, which are attracting tourists from all over the world to Peshawar.
He said that special tour packages are being introduced to enable easy access of domestic and foreign tourists to these wonders and historical places.
Regarding Pakhtun Culture Day, he said that Pakhtuns as a nation take care of tourists as guests, good manners and hospitality are part of our culture and this is our identity in the world.
Caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Tourism, Culture, Archeology and Museums, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel also attended and addressed the Pakhtun Culture Day event organized under the auspices of Culture and
Tourism Authority in Sethi House.
Various aspects of Pakhtun culture were highlighted during the event wherein poets presented poems, artists performed folk music.
A large number of media representatives, government officials, and artists also participated in the event.
