LAHORE The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement was signed by LCCI President Kashif Anwar, and the varsity Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Tahir on behalf of their respective sides, according to LCCI spokesman here Sunday.
Under the MoU, both parties would jointly organize seminars, workshops, and awareness sessions to promote mutual collaboration, besides cooperating in research publications, international trade laws, and governmental regulations. Khwaja Farid University students would be provided internship opportunities with registered companies associated with Lahore Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Khwaja Fareed University students would also have access to the LCCI library.
Collaboratively, Khwaja Fareed University and Lahore Chamber of Commerce would contribute to the advancement of technology, energy, IT, solar energy, software
development, environmental conservation, and national talent development. Individuals associated with Lahore Chamber and their families, upon gaining admission to Khwaja Fareed University, would receive fee discounts.
Speaking on this collaboration, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Tahir emphasized the need for industry-academia linkages in the contemporary era. He stated that the collaboration between industries and educational institutions can accelerate societal progress. Universities play a crucial role in understanding and presenting solutions to industry challenges, fostering not only industrial self-reliance but also making students aware of global demands.
He further noted that Khwaja Farid University aims to enlighten the new generation about the modern demands of the international community and prepare them accordingly.
