Sialkot: Kotli Loharan Police have arrested a man who was wanted in a case involving the alleged torture and subsequent death of his three-year-old daughter, on the directions of DPO Sialkot Captain (Retd.) Dost Muhammad.
According to police, the incident took place on Sept 11 in Chak Mandahir, where the complainant, Kiran Shehzadi, alleged that the accused, Adnan Rashid, slammed his three-year-old daughter onto the floor during a domestic dispute, causing serious head injuries.
Police registered FIR No. 602/26 under Sections 302 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) after receiving information about the incident and shifted the injured child to Civil Hospital Sialkot for treatment.
The child succumbed to her injuries on Sept 12 while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
DPO Sialkot Captain (Retd.) Dost Muhammad directed the investigating officer to conduct the probe transparently and in accordance with the law. He also directed that the case be effectively prosecuted on the basis of medical, scientific and other available evidence.
