Hyderabad: One of the 3 men injured in alleged firing by DSP Muhammad Ashraf Qureshi during a neighborhood clash breathed his last during medical treatment at Liaquat University Hospital here on Friday.
Irshad Fakhruddin Kazi succumbed to the fatal gunshot wound in his chest 2 days after he was shot allegedly by the DSP of Sindh Police Highway Patrol (SPHP) in Noorani Basti area in Paretabad in the limits of Pinyari police station.
Afaq lshaq Rajput, a passerby, and Kamran Babu Hashmi, a neighbour, also sustained gunshot injuries in a leg and the back, respectively.
All of them were shifted to the LUH.The incident’s FIR was registered at PS Pinyari on the complaint of Muhammad Waqas Kazi, brother of the slain person.
Besides DSP Qureshi, his 2 gunmen were also nominated in that FIR under sections 324, 354 and 504 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) in addition to section 6/7 of Anti Terrorism Act, 1997.
The Pinyari police had arrested the DSP immediately after the incident and on October 8 the Anti Terrorism Court granted his 4-day physical remand for interrogation.
