Minister distributes cheques among laboureres


Sialkot: A ceremony was held at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to distribute marriage and death grant cheques among workers and labourers. Punjab Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Muhammad Manshaullah Butt distributed 419 marriage grant cheques and 57 death grant cheques among eligible workers and their families.



Commissioner PCI Zulfiqar Ali Kharl, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Syed Ahtesham Mazhar, DG Labor Welfare Syeda Kulsoom and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Punjab Chaudhry Faisal Ikram were also present at the ceremony. Addressing to the participants of the ceremony, Minister Manshaullah Butt announced the establishment of a new labour colony in Sialkot.



He said that the welfare and well-being of labourers and workers is a key priority of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and the provincial government is actively pursuing this vision through comprehensive measures and initiatives. Manshaullah Butt said that the marriage grant of laborers has been increased from Rs 4,00,000 to Rs 6,00,000 while the death grant has been increased from Rs 6,00,000 to Rs 8,00,000.



He said that workers and labourers are playing an important role in serving the country and contributing to its development, adding that the services and sacrifices of the working class deserve greater recognition.



The minister said that 73 schools have been established across the province for the children of laborers, while 150 children of laborers are being given scholarships in medical colleges.



He said that medical equipment worth one and a half billion rupees has been provided to Social Security hospitals.



Manshaullah Butt said that the number of beds in Sialkot Social Security Hospital has been increased from 50 to 100, while medicines worth billions of rupees have been provided to 13 dispensaries in the district.



The provincial minister said that industrialists and workers are playing an important role in running the wheels of the country’s economy and the welfare of workers is among the top priorities of the government.



President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Syed Ahtesham Mazhar said that Sialkot’s industrialists are making Pakistan famous all over the world and their real asset is the workers.



President SCCI added that the industrialists and workers are earning valuable foreign exchange for the country together. He said that every hardworking worker is a golden worker and his welfare has always been the mission of the industrialist community.
