MQM leader calls for new administrative units amid population growth, improve governance facilitate people


Islamabad: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Amin-ul-Haque reiterated the need to create new administrative units, saying an increase in administrative divisions has become inevitable in view of the rapidly growing population.



Talking to media outside the Parliament House, he said the country’s population had increased



massively while the number of provinces remained four.



Citing examples of other countries including Trkiye, he said many countries were increasing administrative units with the passage of time to improve governance and facilitate people.



Highlighting the benefits of decentralisation, he said, ‘If you decentralise the system, people will get justice at their doorstep, development work will increase and the common people will benefit. ”
