Hyderabad: National Disability and Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The celebration brought together children with disabilities, rehabilitation professionals, staff members, parents, and community representatives. The venue was decorated with Pakistani flags and national colours, while children enthusiastically participated in different activities to express their love for Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Rida Fatima, Adeeba Hassan Memon, Faiqa Jahangir, Kainat Khoso, Saima Lashari, Qarar Hussain, Waseem Lashari, and others highlighted the significance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the sacrifices made for the creation of Pakistan.
The speakers emphasized that the true spirit of independence lies in building an inclusive Pakistan where persons with disabilities enjoy equal rights, dignity, accessibility, education, rehabilitation, and opportunities to participate fully in society.
The NDF Hyderabad team reaffirmed its commitment to continuing rehabilitation and inclusion initiatives for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and supporting their families through its partnership with DEPD, Government of Sindh.
The event concluded with prayers for the peace, prosperity, unity, and development of Pakistan, followed by enthusiastic slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad. ‘
