NEPRA organizes 2nd annual CSR award ceremony

ISLAMABAD:To celebrate the achievements of NEPRA’s licensees in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday organized the 2nd CSR award ceremony.

The ceremony was chaired by Chairman NEPRA, Tauseef H. Farooqi and was attended by a large number of NEPRA Professionals, Social Welfare Organizations, and licensees including, K-Electric, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), HUBCO, NASDA Green and ENGRO, etc, said a press release.

Farooqi in his opening remarks presented his vision about NEPRA’s drive of “Power with Prosperity (PwP)” in addition to its four other drives “Power with Safety”, “Power with Security”, “Power with Unity”, and “Power with Equality”.

Furthermore, he shared the latest impact of CSR in the year 2022 with total spending of Rs 33.2 billion, job creation for 51,586 people and Rs 685 million in flood relief, as reported by the licensees.

He also elaborated that NEPRA through its “PwP” drive is making tremendous headways by encouraging its licensees to help and contribute towards the development of the marginalized sections of the society living under abject poverty through framing and implementation of remarkable social policies and development programs.

The event also included presentations by some of the leading social welfare organizations in the country & worldwide.

Later, Chairman NEPRA presented the Flood Relief awards, Roshni Baji Award, KE Innovation Challenge Award, and CSR Stalwart awards among the top performing organizations and announced the CSR Gold, Silver & Bronze awards.

PAEC was declared the top performer and presented with the Gold award. K-Electric took the silver award and Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) won the Bronze award.

The services of the NEPRA CSR team were also recognized by the distribution of appreciation certificates amongst them.
