LAHORE: National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Sunday hoistednational flag at Ravi Toll Plaza in connection with 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
NH&MP DIG Mehboob Aslam, Road Master Managing Director Faisal Javed Sheikh, Almarah Foundation Sofia Waraich hoisted the national flag with the echo of national anthem. The NH&MP olice presented salute. Addressing the ceremony, DIG Mehboob Aslam on behalf of NH&MPcongratulated the nation on the 75th independence day of Pakistan.
He said: “Our forefathers rendered great sacrifices for the creation of an independent homeland for he Muslims of sub-continent, and now we must play our role for the development of the country”.Citing the statements of Quad-e-Azam “There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan” he said that Motorway Police always ensured protection and safety of people on roads and motorways. The DIG said: “We should give a strong message to the entire world that Pakistan is an independent nation.” He said the NH&MP was providing three type of services to the public which were- law and order, education and help to people, adding that NH&MP were going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Road Master Transport Company (RMTC) to ensure maximumroad safety on the national highway and motorways. Later, an MoU was signed between NHMP and Road Master ransport Company. DIG Mehboob Aslam and others distributed gift hampers and water bottles to road users.
