Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Division Nauman Yousaf on Wednesday visited Pooniki village and the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Pattoki to review the implementation of the Suthra Punjab sanitation campaign and inspect public healthcare facilities.
During his visit to Pooniki village, the commissioner reviewed cleanliness arrangements and interacted with local residents to seek their feedback on the sanitation plan being implemented under the Suthra Punjab initiative. He issued on-the-spot directions to the district administration for further improving sanitation standards.
Commissioner Nauman Yousaf directed the authorities to ensure the regular cleaning of drains and open areas according to the prescribed schedule, emphasizing that there would be no compromise on cleanliness. He said the same standard of daily sanitation must be maintained in both rural and urban areas under the Suthra Punjab programme.
Later, the commissioner visited THQ Hospital Pattoki, where he reviewed cleanliness arrangements and healthcare protocols. He inspected the emergency, surgery and medicine wards, along with other departments of the hospital.
He also examined the medicine store, medicine batches and the record of medicine supplies, besides reviewing the duty roster, sanitation arrangements and overall hospital management. During the visit, he met patients in different wards, inquired about the quality of treatment being provided and sought their feedback regarding the availability of free medicines, expressing satisfaction over the arrangements.
The commissioner also inspected the hospital’s washrooms and directed the administration to maintain the highest standards of hygiene across all facilities. He stressed that there would be zero tolerance for poor cleanliness standards in hospitals, directing the administration to ensure proper sanitation and hygiene in wards, canteens, parking areas and other public facilities.
Nauman Yousaf said that, in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, inspections of hospitals across the division would continue to monitor the provision of quality healthcare services, cleanliness and patient care on a regular basis.
