Sukkur: A one day training session on Fire Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and practical training was successfully organized here at Government PC Boys School, Barrage Colony, Sukkur on Monday.
This training program was held on the special directives of Director Civil Defence Sindh, Riaz Hussain Laghari and Deputy Commissioner/ Controller Civil Defence, Sukkur Nadir Shahzad Khan and Principal, Government Elementary College of Education Sukkur, Abdul Ghani Soomro, under the supervision of Incharge Officer Civil Defence Sukkur Mian Jahangir Abbasi, Deputy Chief Warden Dr. Saeed Awan, Post Warden Sheikh Adnan and Incharge Officer Media Riaz Siddiqui.
A large number of teachers and students of the school participated in the training. During the workshop, Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence Sukkur Dr. Saeed Awan delivered a detailed lecture on fire safety SOPs, practical methods to immediately control fire, and protection of life and property in case of an emergency.
Later, along with the Civil Defence team, he also imparted practical training to students and teachers on the use of firefighting equipment and emergency evacuation.
In the end, Headmaster of the school Ghulam Akbar Abro appreciated the efforts of Civil Defence Sukkur and said that such practical training in educational institutions is the need of the hour, which builds confidence among children to deal with emergency situations.
